Our travel experience is diverse and ongoing. Residing in South Carolina, my life is rich with two driving passions outside of my family: education and travel. Because of my upbringing in the Air Force, I acquired a deep-seated love for exploration. Specifically, my teenage years flourished in England while meandering through Europe’s diverse landscapes. Subsequently, this journey not only deepened my appreciation for different cultures and architectural marvels but also ignited my interest in the historical tapestry of the 16th to 19th centuries. As a result, this is closely interwoven with my enthusiasm for genealogy.
Currently, I am advancing my academic pursuits by working towards a Master’s degree in Genealogical, Palaeographic, & Heraldic Studies at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. Furthermore, having completed my first year to earn a PgCert, I am now progressing through my second year towards a PgDip.
Transitioning from a fulfilling career in banking to retirement, I am rekindling my wanderlust. As a result, my latest adventures have led me from living most of my adult life on the Pacific Coast of the USA to picking up and traversing the country to the Atlantic Coast. This transition allows the exploration of the East Coast, viewing its historical treasures through a genealogical lens. The forthcoming journey is set to take me back to Europe, starting with Ireland, a nod to my dual citizenship.
Ultimately, I firmly believe in lifelong learning and the power of embracing new perspectives. I have traveled through 34 states and 13 countries outside the USA. By staying open to the world’s vast experiences, we can broaden our horizons, dreams, and understanding of humanity. Join me as we embark on this journey together, exploring the globe’s rich history and cultural diversity.
